Grilling chicken wings

Hello, hope you're doing well and have enjoyed your chicken wings by trying out some of the methods that we discussed earlier. Now today we will talk about another method of cooking chicken wings which is grilling the wings.

Preparation:

At first preheat the oven to 190C. Now cut the wings in half with a knife in between the socket that holds the wing and leg together. Then place them into a baking dish and put it inside the oven.

You need to bake the chicken wings for about 30 to 40 minutes. The wings should turn pale white within this period. Now gently take them out of the oven. This initial part is called “pre-cooking” which is required before grilling the wings. Precooking the chicken wings will help you to reduce a considerable portion of fat from the wings so that you don’t have to worry too much about the flare-ups. In addition, pre-cooking the wings will also help you save energy as it will take less time to cook the wings. Once you're done with the pre-cooking part, its time to go for the next part, which is grilling.

Just before you finish baking the wings, preheat the grill to maximum. This way you will have the grill prepared ready for when you take the wings out of the oven. Then, when both the wings and the grill are prepared place the wings on the grill by using tongs. Turn the wings constantly with the tongs to avoid burning. Although most of the fats will be gone after you bake the wings for half an hour some will still remoain. So be careful about the flare ups that can be caused by the remaining fat.

After a while, the wings will turn golden brown and this is when you should start adding the sauce. Continue to turn the wings while you are mixing the sauce with them. Using barbecue sauce can sometimes cause some problems as it contains sugar which can burn the wings and turn them black. To avoid this from happening, you can try other non sugar containing sauces. This will help you to avoid burning the wings. People have different opinions about how long should the entire grilling process take. However, you should make up you own mind. So take the wings off the grill (after you are done with adding the sauce) when you think they are properly grilled.

Cooking chicken wings in 3 different methods - how long should you cook them?

In my last post I talked about one of the easiest chicken wing recipes. Now today I'll discuss how long you should cook the chicken wings using different methods. You'll see you can cook chicken wings in various ways. You can bake them or deep fry them. Another widely followed method is pan frying the chicken wings. Now here I will briefly talk about all these methods and you can choose one that suits you best

Now before cooking the chicken wings make sure that they're properly thawed. You can do this by keeping the wings in the refrigerator for couple of days prior to cooking. When you're ready to cook the wings, first wash them properly in cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

If you're pan frying the wings, you'll need a large frying pan. First pour some oil into the pan and heat to medium high-heat. When the oils hot enough, add the chicken wings to the pan in a single layer. You need to cook the wings for about 6 to 7 minutes. Then roll them over and cook them for 6 to 7 minutes more. I'd recommend using a wok to fry the wings. This way you'll get crispy and juicy chicken wings.

Another method that you may want to try is simply baking the chicken wings. In my last article I prepared baked chicken wings with BBQ sauce, but they are equally good plain. By baking them you will not be getting the wings as crispy as pan frying but it is the healthier way to cook them. Once again baking the chicken wings, you need to heat the oven to 220C. Add the wings in a little non-stick cooking spray coated glass baking dish and then bake them for around 30 to 40 minutes.

If you're planning to deep fry the wings then first make sure that they are dry enough before putting them in the hot oil. This way you will be able to avoid the splatters. For cooking the chicken wings through this method, you will need to heat the oil to 180C. Once the oil is ready, add a single layer of chicken wings into the fryer basket. Make sure that the wings are just covered by the oil once you lower them into the oil. Lower the wings gently into the oil and then cook them for about 12 to 15 minutes. This way you will get the chicken wings nicely browned and crispy on the outside while the inner portion will remain juicy.

And that’s it. Now you know how long you should be cooking the chicken wings in the three different methods. So, try them out.

A very simple chicken wing recipe

Chicken wing is considered one of the most popular foods in many parts of the world. If you take a look at a cooking website or a book, you will find various types of chicken wing recipes involving lots of ingredients and a series of instructions on preparing the wings. But today I will share one of my simple chicken wing recipes with you that you can easily try out for your next party. This is one of the healthy ways to cook chicken wings as you will be baking them in the oven.

The recipe that we will work on today is going to be the basic recipe for 1 kilogram of chicken wings. For this method, you need to preheat the oven at 220C. You'll need a couple of disposable baking pans. You can go for any size you want. However, I think the larger ones will be the best for this. The reason why I prefer disposable baking pan is that they are cheap and you don’t have to worry about cleaning them which is a hassle when you are using the regular pans. In addition to this, you will also need hot sauce and margarine to prepare the sauce for cooking the chicken wings.

Now let’s start with the cooking part. First, you need to cut the chicken wings into 2 in such a way that there will be a wing part and another part that will look like a drumstick. After spreading the wings out, bake them for an hour in the disposable pan.

For preparing the sauce, you will need a quantity of bbq sauce, its best to prepare this in advance according to the recipe here. Once you are done with cooking the wings, get them out of the oven and then mix the hot sauce. Now gently shake the wings in the sauce.

Once you are done, time to serve the chicken wings. The best option would be to serve them in a crockpot on warm setting for the party. The bbq sauce works perfectly in this dish. You can also include celery and carrot sticks as well. And now you are ready to enjoy your chicken wings with your friends. It is simple isn’t it?

Also, you can steam cook rice, especially brown rice. Fish, poultry, eggs and seafood are also good cooked in this way. When cooking in steam, some rules have to be taken into consideration:

  • The device must be supervised - if it runs out of water, or even if the water runs below the minimum recommended amount, it will cause a problem.
  • When cooking fish over the steam, keep the water boiling so the fish will cook fast. It is advisable to put the fish in the lower compartment so that the fish juice doesn't alter the taste of the vegetables, potatoes or rice from other compartments. In short steam cooking helps you to cook a healthy meal, and by cooking a healthy meal you help make sure that you lead a healthy life.
