Slow cooked beef stew

Slow cooked beef stew

Yeild:

servings 

Ingredients:

1000 g,  Braising or stewing steak

2  Large leeks

4  Large carrots

2  Onions

2  Garlic cloves, smashed with skin on

250 ml,  Red wine

250 ml,  Good beef stock

Preparation:

  1. Cut the steak into large strips, it will be melt in the mouth when its finished
  2. Chop the vegetables into large pieces and smash the garlic cloves with the back of your knife
  3. Place the meat and veg in the slow cooker
  4. Mix the wine and stock together and season generously with salt and pepper, pour over the meat and veg
  5. Put the lid on and cook for about 8 hours on the slow cookers highest setting
  6. Before serving remove the garlic, you can also sprinkle over some chopped parsley if you like.
