Oatmeal Walnut Bread

Originaly Yeild:

4 servings




200 ml,  shortening

150 g,  white sugar

2  eggs

100 g,  mashed bananas

1 tsp,  vanilla extract

300 g,  all-purpose flour

0.50 tsp,  baking soda

0.50 tsp,  salt

100 g,  quick cooking oats

100 g,  chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In large bread making bowl, place the shortening and sugar and mix thoroughly until it turns light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, then stir in the banana and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Beat into the mixture.
  4. Now stir in oats and nuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
