Hazelnut and Chocolate Cookies

225 g,  unsalted butter, softened

225 g,  caster sugar

170 g,  Carnation Condensed Milk

350 g,  self raising flour, sifted

100 g,  dark chocolate, chopped

100 g,  roasted hazelnuts, chopped


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, place the butter and sugar and beat well until pale. Stir in the condensed milk. Mix in the flour and then add the chocolate and the nuts and stir constantly.
  3. Divide the dough in half and place each half in a square of foil or cling film. Roll into two thick sausage shapes. You can keep this in refrigerator and use it for a week or so.
  4. When ready to bake, peel off the cling film or foil, cut off thick slices.
  5. Bake in the oven on trays lined with baking parchment for about 15 minutes or until golden brown at the edges, but still a little soft.
  6. Bake the dough in batches.
