Pear Cake

Total Time:

1 hour 10 minutes

Originaly Yeild:

8 servings

1 tin,  lard for greasing

1  Breadcrumbs for tin

2  eggs

60 ml,  milk

200 g,  sugar

0.13 tsp,  salt

215 g,  Plain flour

0.13 tsp,  Ground Cloves

1000 g,  fresh pears

1  Knob of butter

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Grease a baking tin with the lard and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs. Get rid of excess breadcrumbs by turning the pan upside-down over the sink.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk thoroughly. Stir in sugar, salt, flour and cloves until a smooth mixture is formed.
  3. Peel and core the pears. Cut the pears into slices and use a spatula to fold them into the cake mixture.
  4. Spoon the cake mixture into the prepared tin, spread it out with the spatula.
  5. Spread small knobs of butter over the cake. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes until the cake is lightly browned on top.
