Garlic Penne Pasta

4 servings




1 lb,  penne

2 tbsp,  butter or margarine

75 g,  cloves, minced

2 tbsp,  flour

250 g,  chicken broth or beef broth

225 ml,  milk

2 tbsp,  parsley flakes

1 tsp,  salt and pepper, to taste

35 g,  grated parmesan cheese


  1. Cook penne pasta according to the package directions. Drain the cooked penne pasta and don’t cool it, keep it hot.
  2. In a medium sized sauce pan, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute.
  3. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stir constantly.
  4. Then add broth and milk and cook, stirring frequently. Cook until the sauce boils and thickens.
  5. Add parsley, salt, pepper and cheese.
  6. Keep the pan over low heat until cheese is melted; stir constantly to mix the cheese evenly.
  7. Toss hot pasta with sauce and serve immediately.
