Cheesy Brown Rice

Cheesy Brown Rice

Yeild:

Ingredients:

475 ml,  water

190 g,  brown rice

0.50 tbsp,  red pepper, seeded and chopped

25 g,  red onion, chopped

115 g,  Grated half fat Cheddar cheese

Preparation:

  1. In a medium sized pan, add water and bring it to boil. Then add the brown rice and bring it to boil.
  2. Cook the rice on low flame till it turns tender; ensure that the water has been absorbed. This may take 40 to 50 minutes.
  3. In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Stir in pepper and onion and sauté it until lightly browned. Now add the cooked rice.
  4. Add the Cheddar cheese and continue stirring until the cheese has melted completely.
