Nutty Brown Rice

Yeild:

Ingredients:

200 g,  brown rice

30 g,  butter

50 g,  onion, finely chopped

50 g,  finely chopped pecans

75 g,  handful minced parsley

0.25 tbsp,  dried basil

0.25 tbsp,  ground ginger

0.25 tbsp,  ground black pepper

0.25 tbsp,  salt

Preparation:

  1. In a medium sized pan, add 400ml of water and bring it to boil. Then add the brown rice and bring it to boil.
  2. Cook the rice on low flame till it turns tender; ensure that the water has been absorbed. This may take 40 to 50 minutes.
  3. In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onions, pecans, parsley, basil, ginger, pepper and salt.
  4. When onion turns tender, stir the whole mixture into rice.
